Bituseal® protection for pipelines
Pipelines need protection that must be corrosion-resistant, strong, flexible, durable – and cost-effective. Bitumen based coatings have been used as a protective sealant for hundreds of years, and some pipelines coated with BE over 50 years ago are still in use. But modern demands for pipe coatings have changed, as the pipeline operating temperatures, laying and storage techniques – and the environments they have to cope with – have all become far more demanding. PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL A/S, a Danish company with experience in bitumen products going back nearly a century, has in cooperation with Shell developed the unique Bituseal® System, a range of advanced products for complete pipeline protection.
The Bituseal® System
The Bituseal® System range consists of primers, polymer-modified enamel, selected outer wrap, polypropylene (PP) top coat, and field joint membranes to complete the system. All easy and quick to apply and environmentally safe in application and throughout their service life.
